What we’re up to

WRITING CENTER FALL EVENTS:

Time Capsule: Letter to My Future Self
Where: Seal of Old Main
When: Tuesday, September 29th, 11am-1pm
What: Come write a letter to yourself about how your time at Wofford is starting out this year, and we'll return it to you when you graduate. First years, it's never too early to start getting ready for senior nostalgia ... everyone else, it's never too late!

Write-In 
Where: The Acorn Café, Milliken
When: Wednesday, December 9th, 7pm-10pm
What: Do you have a ton of writing to do for your final projects? Every semester, the Writing Center holds a write-in at the Acorn Cafe during the last week of class. Come get together with friends for solidarity as we all spend time together getting words on the page. The first 30 people will get a free beverage from the Acorn, and your trusty Writing Center crew will be standing by to talk through any questions you might have as you work!

ONGOING PROJECTS:

• Our student researcher, Amelia List, is investigating faculty perceptions of the Writing Center as they vary across disciplines and how faculty perceptions of our service may be connected to disciplinary differences in writing practices. 
• We are working on developing new ways of communicating with students digitally through our website, social media and video content, including at our new website, WritingAtWofford.com
• Wofford's current Quality Enhancement Plan, Write Across Wofford, is developing new forms of structural support for the writing in the disciplines. The Writing Center is working with the QEP to plan for how we can align our support of student writers with their efforts.
