WRITING CENTER EVENTS:
Time Capsule: Letter to My Future Self
Where: Seal of Old Main
When: Tuesday, September 30, 11am-1pm
What: Come write a letter to yourself about how your time at Wofford is starting out this year, and we'll return it to you when you graduate. First years, it's never too early to start getting ready for senior nostalgia ... everyone else, it's never too late!
Write-In
Where: The Acorn Café, Milliken
When: Wednesday, December 3rd, 7pm-10pm
What: Do you have a ton of writing to do for your final projects? Every semester, the Writing Center holds a write-in at the Acorn Cafe during the last week of class. Come get together with friends for solidarity as we all spend time together getting words on the page. The first 30 people will get a free beverage from the Acorn, and your trusty Writing Center crew will be standing by to talk through any questions you might have as you work!

Our staff members are thinking and writing about writing on campus! Read our new blog, From the Mouths of Goats.
ONGOING PROJECTS:
- Our research team, including Josie Thillet, Jack Tope, and Emma Estridge, is currently investigating how our staff can borrow methods from Creative Writing Pedagogy to encourage students to approach their work with more confidence and playfulness. We are presenting our research at the International Writing Center Association conference this Fall!
- We are working on developing new ways of communicating with students digitally through our website, social media and video content, including at our new website, WritingAtWofford.com
- In spring 2024, we piloted a new Writing Fellows program. The pilot imagines a program where individual upper-level courses can be paired with one of our staff members who will be devoted to supporting student writing with more in-depth knowledge of the content and assignments.
