Parents Leadership Council

In 2016, a group of active parents worked with staff in the Wofford College Office of Philanthropy and Engagement to establish the Parent Leadership Council (PLC). This group enhances their support of the college with annual gifts of $2,500 or more.

The PLC meets twice a year — once during the fall semester (the Friday of Family Weekend) and again during the spring semester. Attendance at meetings is not required, but parents enjoy attending because they receive insider updates from college leaders, including President Nayef Samhat, and have opportunities to meet and connect with other Wofford parents.

Your participation helps Wofford.

  • The more you learn about Wofford, the more you’ll share with others, spreading Wofford’s mission in your communities and circles of influence.
  • A robust PLC demonstrates parent satisfaction to foundations, corporations and other outside funders considering major gifts to the college.
  • Gifts from PLC members — both those to The Wofford Fund and those restricted to scholarships or special projects — directly impact the student experience.
