Incoming students wishing to request accommodations for a disability can do so beginning June 1. Requests can be submitted through myWofford -> Student -> Accessibility Services Accommodations. Please contact accessibilityservices@wofford.edu if assistance is needed.

Relevant dates for incoming students to consider:
  • June 1: Students receive access to myWofford “Student” tab.
  • July 1: Housing accommodations deadline (requests finalized after this date will be reviewed but cannot be guaranteed).
  • Aug. 1: Meal plan exemption deadline (only requests finalized by this date are guaranteed to be reflected on the student’s bill).
  • Aug. 14: Academic accommodations deadline (only requests finalized before this date are guaranteed to be in place on the first day of class).

Please allow at least one week for requests to be processed. More complex requests or requests with insufficient supporting documentation could take several weeks to process.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 is civil rights legislation that upholds and extends Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Title II of the ADA states: No qualified individual with a disability shall, by reason of such disability, be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of the services, programs, or activities of a public entity, or be subjected to discrimination by any such entity (42 USC 12132).
