Ensembles

Wofford’s music program provides an array of performance opportunities for both singers and instrumentalists. Our ensembles are open to all students, regardless of the student’s program of study.

Wofford Singers

Wofford Singers is an auditioned mixed-voice choral ensemble that performs a variety of repertoire from the Renaissance to the modern era. Annual performances include a concert for Family Weekend, Candlelight Carols, and a spring concert, in addition to performances for campus events throughout the year. Auditions are held at the beginning of the fall semester and by appointment in the spring. Students will be contacted after registering for the class to schedule an audition time.

Men’s Glee Club

The oldest performing ensemble on campus, Men’s Glee Club performs choral literature for tenor-bass voices from the Renaissance to the contemporary period. Requirements may include a family weekend concert, a Christmas concert, and a spring concert. No audition required.

Women's Choir

Established in 1989, Women’s Choir provides singers with the opportunity to improve their individual and ensemble singing skills through the performance of quality choral literature for treble voices. Requirements may include a family weekend concert, a Christmas concert, and a spring concert. No audition required.

Wofford Choral Society

Wofford Choral Society is the largest ensemble at Wofford College and is open to Wofford students, as well as faculty, staff, and Spartanburg community members. This choir performs choral/orchestral masterworks during the spring semester of odd-numbered years. No audition required. Contact Dr. Harp if you are interested in joining.

Concert Band

Concert Band studies and performs both traditional and contemporary wind band literature. Requirements may include performance in a family weekend concert, a Christmas concert, and a spring concert.

Jazz Ensemble/Pep Band

This ensemble studies and performs jazz ensemble literature with emphasis in the styles of blues, swing, latin, rock, jazz fusion and improvisation. Requirements include performances at campus/community events and participation in the Wofford College Athletic Band (commonly known as Pep Band). Students not enrolled in Jazz Ensemble may be allowed to participate in the Athletic Band without course credit.
