Family Information about Commencement Weekend

Location and length of ceremony: Commencement will last approximately 2 hours. The ceremony will take place on the front lawn of Main Building.

Livestream info: Commencement, Honors Convocation, Baccalaureate and the ROTC Commissioning Ceremony will be livestreamed for any family or friends unable to attend events via the following link: wofford.edu/comm-live.

Seating: Tickets are not required for seating on the front lawn of Main Building. Seating will be first-come, first-served.

Rain plan: In the case of inclement weather, the commencement ceremony will move to the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium, and tickets will become required due to the limited capacity of the arena. The college will make the rain call, if necessary, and communicate that to students on Thursday. If the rain plan is enacted, students will be allowed 6 tickets each, and ticket distribution will take place on Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Mungo Student Center lobby and 4-5 p.m. in the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Any tickets not picked up on Friday will be available on Sunday morning at a “will call” at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium beginning at 8 a.m. Students may share any extra tickets they may have with classmates who need additional tickets. If students lose their tickets between Friday and Sunday, they will not receive replacement tickets.

Photos: A professional photographer with Grad Images will photograph students as they receive their diplomas. Those photos are available for purchase. For more information, visit gradimages.com.

Commencement decorum: The commencement ceremony is undeniably of great importance to each graduate, the guests who are here to celebrate with them, the faculty/staff and the college's special guests. To preserve the proper degree of dignity that this highly academic occasion warrants, the college requests that graduates and their guests do not interrupt the ceremony with inappropriate expressions. By refraining from disrupting the ceremony, the awarding of degrees can progress rapidly and with dignity. Your cooperation is appreciated.
