Alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, trustees and friends of the college are invited to participate in A Day for Wofford on Thursday, Oct. 12. The 24-hour giving event celebrates the collective impact of Terriers around the country.

There will be a dozen challenges to unlock matching funds and several special events.

Last year during A Day for Wofford, 1,235 individuals made gifts to the college totaling $691,634.

This year, anyone who makes a gift of $65 or more will receive a Wofford College branded notepad for their refrigerator or desk. Find more information and A Day for Wofford social media kit, which includes official branded #ADayforWofford images, HERE.

The day will consist of 12 challenges, with additional dollars unlocked when certain goals are met. As one of the 12 challenges, an anonymous donor pledged $250,000 if the donor count reaches 1,200. The financial goal for the day is $700,000.

Regional alumni club events will take place in Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, Spartanburg and Washington, D.C.

Two student events also will be held, allowing the student body to get involved and celebrate the day. Students can join a philanthropy trivia event on the seal of Main Building from 7:30-11:30 a.m. Participants  receive a free drink from SIPs coffee truck. In the evening, seniors are invited to Blue Moon Bodega to kick off the senior gift campaign.

“The importance of A Day for Wofford is the collective impact of donor participation,” says Mackenzie Snow, director of annual giving. “No matter the size of your gift, donors can come together to make a huge impact. That’s the reason we started this day of giving, to show what Terriers can do together.”
