Social Media Marketing Ambassador

The Wofford College Social Media Ambassador Program gives students an opportunity to gain professional social media experience while promoting Wofford to prospective students. Selected students will serve as social media influencers while learning about marketing, social media strategy, content development and digital storytelling.

What is a social media ambassador?

Social Media Ambassadors are current students who are passionate about Wofford, have a variety of academic and other interests and are adept at social media. Their assignments will include but are not limited to:
  • Brainstorming ideas for social media content for multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
  • Coordinating a social media content calendar with the other members of the Social Media Ambassador team and college marketing staff.
  • Writing captions, taking pictures and filming short videos for social media.
  • Maintaining a personal presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and/or Twitter and TikTok that promotes Wofford College in a positive way for prospective students.

Position requirements:

  • Be enrolled at Wofford College.
  • Have the ability to work on a team.
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Show an understanding of social media use and trends.

Eight students will be selected to form a team of ambassadors. Experience in photography or video is expected for this role. This team’s mission will be to share with prospective student the many opportunities available to them at Wofford College. Participants will attend a 30-minute weekly meeting then will complete up to two hours per week planning and generating social media content. A SMA will commit to serve a one-year term with the option to renew.
