Mia Kilpatrick ’22

International Affairs and Spanish Majors, Economics Minor

This summer Mia participated in The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) Virtual Summer Program. This DC based program gave her the opportunity to take classes at George Mason University and helped her find an internship. Mia was an intern with the Africa Faith and Justice Network, which works to promote just relations between the African continent and the US government. Despite the unconventional nature of the summer of 2020, she feels as though she was still able to make the most of her time with TFAS.

Spanish and Government Major, American Politics Concentration

In Spring 2021, Madeline worked as an intern for a Congresswoman Frederica Wilson in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. During her time as an intern she has engaged in constituent outreach, conducted policy research, and assisted with writing legislation. While at Wofford, Madeline also volunteered with AmeriCorps, worked as a student researcher, and study abroad in South America. She hopes to build on all of these experiences to pursue a career focused on ensuring that all children have accessible and equitable education.

Rik has interned with a state political party, a House of Representatives member, and the Senate Judiciary Committee. He recently completed the Capitol Hill Internship Program this past Interim by interning with Patomak Global Partners, a financial services consultancy. Rik also spent this past summer interning for Asana Partners, a private equity real estate firm.


Sadie Fink ’20

Sadie Fink ’20

International Affairs Major, French and History Minors

Sadie Fink spent the fall semester of 2019 studying abroad in Chile, Nepal, and Jordan focusing on human rights, human right abuses, and movements of resistance, while pursuing a personal research project on the right to abortion and the themes of masculinity. Her spring semester was cut short due to COVID-19, but she spent several weeks studying French in Senegal.
