PULP THEATRE: HAIR, The Musical
January 24, 25, 26, 2014
HAIR is a joyous celebration of youth and a poignant journey through a tumultuous 1960s America. This exuberant musical about a group of teenagers searching for truth, peace and (free) love in a Vietnam War era America has struck a resonant chord with audiences of all ages. The themes and struggles in HAIR, although from another era, seem vital and relevant to the times we live in today in more ways than you expect until you experience the show first hand.
**Please be aware that HAIR is a 60’s era protest musical that contains adult themes, rock and roll, brief nudity, and references to peace, sex, and drugs.**
WOFFORD MAINSTAGE: Criminals in Love by George F. Walker
March 20-22 and 26-29, 2014
Junior loves his girlfriend Gail. A lot. Also, he is terrified that his destiny is to follow in his father's footsteps. His father, a recently incarcerated and pathetically inept criminal, successfully lures Junior and Gail, in spite of their best efforts, into a series of misdemeanors that quickly escalate. Criminals in Love is a strange and enormously fun cocktail of slapstick comedy, teenage romance, action film, and social commentary.
Plus a bonus: An All-New, Original Children's Play!
By Kerry Ferguson and the students of the Theatre for Youth Class
Following in the footsteps of the wildly successful Rutabaga's Royal Academy, this totally new and totally fun family-friendly show is sure to be a hit with kids of all ages.
