A Day for Wofford is an opportunity to celebrate the collective impact of Terriers during a 24-hour giving event taking place Tuesday, Nov. 9.

The college has highlighted several funds that Terriers might be interested in, including some that are part of giving challenges.

Give $56.50 and get a pair of Wofford socks. The first 100 first-time donors will receive a holiday ornament of Wofford’s Main Building.

Use the #ADayForWofford social media kit to encourage others to give to the college.

Why Terriers are giving

“#ADayForWofford allows us to continue moving the college forward with a collective push. Many hands make light work, and we are honored to do our part.”
Cathy and Chris Carpenter ’90

“Wofford is such a special place. It is an honor to contribute to its future and advancement so that generations to come can experience all that Wofford has to offer.”
Bennett Gore ’02

Highlighted funds and special projects:

Wofford Walking Track: Mike and Margaret Green Young ’92, parents of Davis Young ’25, have issued a challenge to fellow parents in support of the refurbishment and enhancement of the track around Snyder Field to encourage health and wellness. For every current parent who designates a gift today to the track, the Youngs will match the proceeds of that gift, dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000. Margaret is a member of the college’s board of trustees. Mike is Wofford’s former head men’s basketball coach. This challenge also has a very special condition. The Youngs have asked that the track be named in memory of Jeremiah Tate ’17, a member of the men’s basketball team, who died unexpectedly in the summer of 2015 between his sophomore and junior year at Wofford.

The Laptop Fund: The Office of Student Success has seen an increase in the number of loaner laptops being requested each semester. To help, a fund has been established for those who want to support a tangible item on A Day for Wofford. Students with demonstrated or unforeseen need will be given priority.

Dress for Success: Administered by the dean for student success, the fund helps students with demonstrated need obtain professional attire for upcoming jobs, interviews and networking opportunities.

Friends of the Library: The Wofford Friends of the Library fund supports the building and staff of the Sandor Teszler Library. It advances the library as a center of collaboration, consultation and contemplation.

The Wofford Way Unity Fund: Created by several members of the Class of 1969 to provide support to enact recommendations of the Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee adopted by the administration and board of trustees.
