    Funded by anonymous donor, the college’s innovative Presidential International Scholar program allows one student to travel during the academic year to developing countries researching an independent project. The scholar is chosen personally each year by Wofford’s president as “the student best fitted to benefit humankind.” The 2011-12 scholar is Amy Powers.
