Wofford College has qualified for federal funds through Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) and the American Rescue Plan (ARP). Both intend to assist students with components of the cost of attendance or emergency costs that arise due to COVID-19.
All students currently enrolled full time in the spring semester will receive a payment of $1,250, which is approximately 5.8% of the total spring tuition and fees. These funds are intended to offset hardships related to the COVID-19 pandemic. PELL eligible students will also receive a supplemental payment of $750.
Checks will be mailed to each student’s permanent address listed in Banner. If you would like to update your address or information, please contact the Business Office (sar@wofford.edu) by April 7, 2021. Wofford will not reduce funding if a student has a balance due to the college. These funds are tax exempt and will not count as estimated financial aid or untaxed income for financial aid purposes. We plan to issue payments by the middle of April 2021.
We hope these funds will reduce the financial strain that many are continuing to experience because of COVID-19. Learn more about the college’s process and find frequently asked questions at Wofford.edu/coronavirus.
Sincerely,
Chris Gardner
