Good afternoon.
We once again hope this message finds you and your loved ones well.
As you may have heard, yesterday S.C. Gov. Henry McMaster issued an executive order limiting movement within South Carolina. In an effort to abide by this new directive and proceed in the most socially responsible way, we are suspending our move out schedule effective tonight.
Starting at 5 p.m. this afternoon, Tuesday, April 7, no students will be allowed to return to campus to move out of their residence. Students already scheduled to return to campus should cancel or postpone their plans until this order has been lifted. We will reevaluate this course of action by May 1 and will communicate any changes.
Students who would like to have their belongings placed in storage or shipped home may still work with Storage Scholars (www.storagescholars.com). Storage Scholars is designated as an essential business and can still operate during this period.
We know that this is disappointing and may be distressing to some. We want to reiterate that our staff remains ready to assist you and provide support in this challenging moment. Students with extenuating circumstances should communicate directly with the Office of Residence Life to determine the best course of action by emailing ResLife@wofford.edu.
Sincerely,
Brian Lemere
Assistant Dean of Students for Residence Life
