The alumni office is getting in the holiday spirit with an online Advent calendar. It went live Sunday, Nov. 29 with a message from the Rev. Dr. Ron Robinson ’78, Wofford’s Perkins-Prothro Chaplain and professor of religion. He will have a new message each Sunday throughout the season.
The calendar can be found at https://advance.wofford.edu/portal/advent.
In addition to Robinson’s messages, the calendar will include a variety of fun activities.
“Every day we’re going to have some sort of activity to participate in,” says Alumni Engagement Officer Jordan Moeller.
There will be a Christmas wish list and a letter to Santa for the younger set to download and print, a holiday word search to download and a movie watch list, among other items.
A Wofford Christmas ornament also will be given away, with different ways to claim the prize.
The focus on Tuesday, Dec. 1, will be on gift-giving and giving back to the college as part of the A Day for Wofford campaign.
“For me, I’m most excited about the ornament we’re giving away,” says Moeller. “But there are other days that have a lot of importance, like A Day for Wofford, and the holiday message from President Samhat is scheduled for Dec. 12.”
There’s no peeking ahead. Days will become active on the specific date, but you can go back and look if you skip a day.
This is the first year Wofford has done an online Advent calendar.
