Beginning today, college leaders recommend work from home for those who are able and flexible scheduling for those whose roles require a campus presence. Please use today to plan work-from-home options and how flexible scheduling will look for you and your department. This is an unprecedented time in our college and country, so the college will begin this new enhanced social distancing program tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18, and continue through March 31. The college will reevaluate and communicate new plans by March 31.
Every member of the staff makes a unique and valuable contribution to the effective operation of Wofford College. Because of that, it is impossible to make sweeping decisions regarding workflow and social distancing. Please work with your supervisor to make arrangements and discuss expectations for your specific role.
Most campus buildings will be closed during this time, but faculty may still be on campus to teach and retrieve materials. The post office will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The college will not deliver mail, so please pick up mail during the hours listed. Campus Safety will be on campus 24/7 as usual. You can still reach them at 864-597-4911 if you need something.
The Wellness Center will continue to monitor the following means of communication to support faculty and staff medical needs:
- Please contact the nurse practitioner for minor illnesses, refills and consultations through our main telephone line (864-596-4370) or through the Medicat patient portal.
- The medical staff will be checking email and Medicat portal secure messages throughout the day and will respond to needs each business day by no later than 4 p.m.
- Any faculty and staff with personal accessibility needs may contact accessibility services at accessibilityservices@wofford.edu.
- You may access 24/7 mental health counseling support at 864-597-4393.
Please use this opportunity to social distance beyond the workplace as well. We wish you and your families well.
