Meet Craig!

Craig in LondonHow long have you been at Wofford?
As an employee, since September 2009. I was a student here for four years before that, so really since late August 2005.

Favorite book?
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, hands down. Other great favorites include Beach Music by Pat Conroy, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, Gilead by Marilynne Robinson, Atonement by Ian McEwan, The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro, The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, the Jeeves and Wooster books by P.G. Wodehouse (especially Right Ho, Jeeves), and, of course, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë (I was an English major; of course I have a ton of books I love!) I also read Brooklyn by Colm Tóibín recently, and while I'm not quite ready to add it to my all time favorites list, I have thought about it a couple of times a week since I finished it. And then I read it again. And again. Here's what I'm currently reading

Favorite movie or tv show?
Movie: Casablanca is my favorite favorite. But I also love Love ActuallyGone with the Wind, The Philadelphia Story, Bringing Up Baby, The Remains of the Day, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story, How to Train Your Dragon, Frozen... really we could be here for days with this.

TV Show: currently airing- Brooklyn Nine Nine; of all time- As Time Goes By and The West Wing (CJ is basically my spirit animal)

Favorite quote?
I don't know if it is my favorite, but the one I find myself quoting the most is one of Jack Donaghy's oft used lines in 30 Rock: "Shut it down." I also love Captain Renault's line in Casablanca "I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!" and often quote Meryl Streep's line from The Devil Wears Prada, "By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me."

What other hats do you wear at Wofford?
I serve the college as a member of the Administrative Court, the IT Advisory Committee, and I teach a section of FYI 101, which I really, really enjoy!

I waste too much time...
on Buzzfeed.

These are a few of my favorite things...
BOOKS, Katharine Hepburn movies, London, Diet Coke, jackets, blankets, cheap to mid-price fountain pens, and coffee (tea) mugs.

One last thing about you?
I like toys. My bookshelves and desk at home are full of them.
