SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College President Benjamin B. Dunlap as the guest host for SCETV’s “The Big Picture” on Thursday, Dec. 15, as he sat down in a special one-on-one interview with Walter Isaacson, Steve Jobs’ biographer and CEO of the Aspen Institute.

The interview with Isaacson, former CEO of CNN and managing editor of TIME, aired on SCETV and broadcast the interview on ETV Radio. “Walter and I are old friends from the Aspen Institute, but, even before we met, I was aware of his brilliance as an author and polymath,” Dunlap says. “What I discovered in person is his dazzling ability to juggle so many complex tasks at once, a trait that makes him the ideal biographer of figures such as Franklin, Einstein, and, above all, Steve Jobs. We had a really enjoyable conversation, one in which we both forgot the cameras were there.”

The interview took place in late November when Isaacson spoke on “Transcending Tribalism” in the keynote address for the second annual Liberty Fellowship Summit held in Columbia, S.C. The Liberty Fellowship is a statewide leadership initiative founded by Upstate businessman Hayne Hipp, Wofford College and the Aspen Institute.

“The Big Picture” is a weekly program on SCETV designed to “inform, entertain an enlighten viewers by providing an in-depth look at the issues and topics of interest to South Carolina.”
