Wofford Alumni Executive Council appoints new officers

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford Alumni Executive Council has appointed new officers and elected six new members for 2005.
Van D. Hipp (Class of 1982), president and CEO of American Defense International in Washington, D.C., was named president. James Milton Johnson (1971), president of Johnson Development Corp. in Birmingham, Ala., is immediate-past president. President-elect is James L. Switzer Jr. (1980), resident manager and first vice president-investment at Merrill Lynch in Spartanburg.
Six new council members have been named to three-year terms. They are:
Dow Napoleon Bauknight (1971), a partner of Accenture Foundation Inc. in Charlotte, N.C.
Kimbrell Klarke “Kim” Kirby (1979), a tree farmer in Columbia, S.C.
Dr. E. Bert “Bud” Knight III (1973), of Pulmonary Medicine, Lung & Chest Medical Associates in Spartanburg.
Timothy Eugene “Tim” Madden (1985), an attorney and partner at Wilkins & Madden, PA in Greenville, S.C.
Dr. Mary Victoria “Vicki” Tatum (1986), a dentist at Doctors Tatum & Hinnant, P.A. in Charleston, S.C.
James Neal Workman (1969), president and owner of Trehel Corp. in Clemson, S.C.
