Studying art history allows you to use art as a lens to examine culture and history. You’ll study various periods of art that include the Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo, and the Nineteenth Century as well as studies of individual cultures or artists.
You’ll enjoy small classes with professors who use their specialties to make classes interesting and relevant. Classes are conducted in both lecture and seminar format, allowing you to find the perfect balance for your needs and interests. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to compete for internships or the right to curate a show at a local gallery.
The Art History department also offers fine arts classes like painting, photography, and sculpture, which you can take to enhance your understanding of art or develop your own talent!
