Biographical or history note: The Wofford Campus Club was organized by the wives of Wofford faculty members and administrators around 1911 to promote social intercourse and cooperation and goodwill between the faculty and the student body. The club gradually grew to include the hostess of each professor, whether that was his wife, his mother, or his daughter in the event that he was widowed. Several women on the college staff, including the dormitory matrons and the secretaries. Later, as women joined the faculty and administration, they were invited to join. Records indicate that the club may have been organized as early as 1911, though the records begin in the 1930s. It is likely that the group was more informal in its early years. Each year, the campus club sponsored social activities for the women on campus, and for the campus at large. In later years, they published a cookbook and continued to hold social activities.

Organization note: Organized into four series: Administrative; Minutes; Cookbooks; and Yearbooks.

Summary note: The records consist of minutes, correspondence, and other materials that document the activities of the Campus Club. Newsletters and memos document their annual activities, as do the yearbooks, which list members and the annual schedule of events.
