Biographical Note:  Harry L. Harvin was born in Sumter, South Carolina in 1923.  His father was a Wofford graduate of the class of 1920 and his mother a Columbia College graduate.  He came to Wofford from Manning, South Carolina, graduated from Wofford in 1943, and later taught at the college in the 1950s.  He maintained a scrapbook of materials focusing on his freshman year, and in another scrapbook, he included materials relating to his senior year and military service.  A manuscript of his memoirs also makes up part of the collection.  He died on March 5, 2009 in Durham, NC.

Summary note: The scrapbooks contain booklets, programs, ephemera, letters, receipts, photographs, and other items from Harry Harvin’s student days at Wofford College.  The 232-page manuscript “One Man’s War: My Memories of World War II” is also part of the collection.
