This policy applies to students who withdraw from semester and year-long programs offered by Wofford College’s Office of International Programs, including programs sponsored by partner organizations. For information about Wofford’s refund policy, please see here.
Students who withdraw from Wofford’s off-campus study programs will be subject to Wofford College's refund policy. In some instances, a program provider will charge a student a non-refundable deposit to participate in the off-campus study program. In these instances, the non-refundable deposit will be deducted from any refund calculated under Wofford’s refund policy. In the event that a partner organization’s refund policy would provide a smaller refund than Wofford’s refund policy, the student’s refund will be adjusted to reflect the actual refund received from the partner organization.
The amount refunded to the student will not exceed, under any circumstances, the amount the student paid to Wofford College. Wofford College and partner organizations are not responsible for indirect costs or fees that have been paid directly by the student; such costs may include (but are not limited to) airfare, passport or visa fees, vaccinations, and deposits.
If a student withdraws from a program either before or after the beginning date, the student must notify the Office of International Programs (OIP) and their partner organization (if applicable) via email. The effective date of the withdrawal will be based upon the Office of International Programs’ acknowledged receipt of this correspondence.
Withdrawing after the program begins may impact the student’s financial aid. Students must contact the Office of Financial Aid to discuss the implications of their withdrawal.
