Former Wofford College student-athletes Michael Gilmartin '18, Alvin Scioneaux '13, Jared Singleton '13 and Howard Wilkerson '06 have been selected by the Hall of Fame Committee of the Wofford College Terrier Club Board of Directors as the 2018 inductees into the college's Athletics Hall of Fame.

In addition, the Hall of Fame will honor the late Rev. Dr. Talmage Skinner '56 as the Distinguished Service Award recipient and Charlie Jones '73 as an Honorary Letterman.

The Hall of Fame inducted its newest class on Sept. 8, 2018.

The Hall of Fame recognizes "those former athletes and coaches who, by outstanding athletic achievement and service, have made lasting and significant contributions to the cause of sports at Wofford College, the Spartanburg community, South Carolina and the nation."

Michael Gilmartin '18 - Baseball
Three-year starter at shortstop and three-time All-Southern Conference selections … Among Wofford career leaders, he is fourth in hits (239), eighth in home runs (36), seventh in runs scored (153) and third in saves (19) … In 2009, he was named All-Southern Conference second team by the coaches … He posted a .335 batting average as he started all 49 games at shortstop … Led the team in home runs with 13 and hits with 70 … Also made 17 appearances on the mound with a 3.38 ERA and seven saves … As a sophomore in 2008, he was named All-Southern Conference second team by the coaches … He started all 59 games at shortstop and made 15 appearances on the mound as a closer. Gilmartin hit .364 for the season, which led the team and was tenth in the Southern Conference … He also led the team with 83 hits and 53 RBIs … During his freshman year in 2007, he was named All-Southern Conference second team by the media and named to SoCon All-Tournament Team … He started all 63 games at shortstop for the Terriers and made 21 appearances on the mound … Hit .322 for the season with 86 hits, including twelve doubles and fourteen home runs, along with 50 RBIs … In the Southern Conference Championship game against The Citadel, pitched 2.1 innings with three strikeouts to get the save ... A native of Moorpark, California, he was drafted by the Oakland A's in the 27th round after his junior season and spent eight seasons in the minor leagues, reaching the AA level … Returned to Wofford in the spring of 2018 to finish classes and graduated with a degree in history.

Alvin Scioneaux '13 - Football
Four-year letterman and three-time All-Southern Conference selection … During his senior season, finished third on the team with 75 total tackles, along with 9.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries ... Named first team All-Southern Conference by the coaches and media … As a junior, played in twelve games with eleven starts at outside linebacker ... Named All-Southern Conference first team by the coaches and second team by the media ... Third on the team with 70 tackles ... Led the team and was second in the Southern Conference in tackles for loss with 14.0 for 64 yards ... Also led the team in sacks with 7.0 for 48 yards, which was third in the Southern Conference ... Named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll ... During his sophomore season, started all twelve games at outside linebacker ... Led team with 85 total tackles, along with 17 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, one interception, and five forced fumbles ... Named first team All-Southern Conference by the media and second team All-Southern Conference by the coaches ... Earned third team All-America honors from the Sports Network and Phil Steele ... Among SoCon leaders, was second in sacks, second in tackles for loss, and 15th in total tackles ... Nationally was 32nd in the nation in sacks and 30th in tackles for loss … As a redshirt freshman, played in all thirteen games and recorded 38 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery … A physics major from Garyville, Louisiana … Signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers.

Jared Singleton '13 - Football
Four-year letterman on the offensive line … Second in school history with 562 knockdown blocks … Named All-Southern Conference three times … As a senior started all 11 games at center and was named All-Southern Conference first team by the coaches and second team by the media … Led team with 175 knockdown blocks … Named Associated Press third team All-American and AFCA first team All-America … Recipient of the Remington Award for the top Division I-FCS center … Started all 13 games at center as a junior ... Named All-Southern Conference first team by the coaches and second team by the media ... Earned fourth team All-America honors from Phil Steele ... Set a new school single season record with 224 knockdown blocks ... Started eleven games at center as a sophomore, missing one game due to illness ... Named second team All-Southern Conference by the media ... Was fourth on the team with 116 knockdown blocks ... In the NCAA Playoff game at Northern Iowa (12/3) had ten knockdowns ... As a redshirt freshman, played in twelve games with two starts at center ... Finished the season with 47 knockdown blocks … A native of Lugoff, South Carolina, he majored in finance.

Howard Wilkerson '06 – Men's Basketball
Four-year letter winner … Named All-Southern Conference first team as a senior by the coaches and second team by the media … Named third team All-Southern Conference by the media as a sophomore … Finished career with 103 games played, 1,195 points (11.6 ppg), 191 assists, 61 blocks (ninth in school history), and 137 steals (ninth in school history) … Led team in scoring and rebounding his sophomore and senior seasons … Named SoCon Player of the Week four times in his career (behind only Noah Dahlman and Fletcher Magee) … As a senior, scored 404 points and had 204 rebounds … Played in only 16 games as a junior due to a knee injury in January (missed final 12 games), but had 220 points and 124 rebounds … His junior season saw him score 23 points with 9 rebounds at Miami, 23 points and 13 rebounds at Tennessee and 28 points and 9 rebounds at Georgia … During his sophomore season led team in scoring (399 points) and rebounding (231) and was second on the team in assists, steals and blocked shots … Played in all 29 games with two starts as a freshman, scoring 172 points with 131 rebounds … A native of Eden, N.C., he has played the last decade professionally in Europe and South America.

Charlie Jones '73, Honorary Lettermen
Charlie Jones graduated from Wofford in 1973 and the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1976. He practiced law with Whiteside, Smith, Jones and Duncan with trial experience in all South Carolina courts for 30 years before becoming a full-time magistrate in 2006. He currently is the associate chief magistrate in Spartanburg County.

Rev. Talmage Skinner '56, Distinguished Service Award
Skinner was chaplain at Wofford from 1986 until his retirement in 2003. He was named the college's first Perkins-Prothro Chaplain and Professor of Religion in 1997. Skinner and his wife, Beverly, remained involved at the college for many years after his retirement, continuing to be a positive force on the campus. He passed away on May 31, 2018. Most notably, the tradition of singing the alma mater following basketball games was begun by Skinner.
