SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Dozens of Wofford College students were recognized for academic excellence, leadership and citizenship Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at the college's annual Honors Convocation held in Leonard Auditorium in Main Building.

President Nayef Samhat named sophomore Kendall Weaver as Wofford’s 36th Presidential International Scholar. The international affairs major and sociology and anthropology minor from Lexington, S.C., will travel beginning in the fall to developing countries to conduct independent research on Western aid in Middle Eastern countries.

Academic departments also recognized their outstanding students and a variety of other leadership and citizenship awards were presented during the event.
