SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Brand Stille, vice president for enrollment at Wofford College, has announced his retirement after 38 years with the college, the past 19 of those on the senior leadership team. Megan Tyler, who has been serving as associate vice president for enrollment and director of admission, will assume the role of interim vice president for enrollment effective July 1, 2025.
Stille, a 1986 graduate of Wofford, joined the admission staff as a counselor in 1987. He became director of admission in 1994 and was promoted to vice president in 2006. His leadership has shaped enrollment strategy and student recruitment efforts with record application numbers, strengthened academic profiles of incoming classes, promoted the integration of enrollment with marketing and broadened the college’s geographic and demographic recruitment range.
“Enrollment is the lifeblood of any liberal arts college, and the college’s outstanding results in this area are a testament to the careful management of financial aid and admission,” says Dr. Nayef Samhat, president of Wofford College. “Brand has led with integrity, innovation and a deep commitment to the mission of the college. I have been privileged to work alongside him for the past 12 years.”
Stille will continue to consult with the college during the 2025-26 academic year as a special assistant to the president, assisting with enrollment and event-related initiatives.
“I’m looking forward to watching the high-performing team in enrollment continue to grow and innovate as they recruit the next class of Terriers,” says Stille. “I’m also excited about contributing to the college in a different capacity.”
Tyler, who joined the Wofford admission team in 2015, will become interim vice president for enrollment. She has earned increasing responsibilities within the admission and enrollment space, being named director of admission in 2020 and associate vice president of enrollment in 2024. Under her leadership, the college enrolled several of its most selective classes and increased applications by almost 10 percent. She graduated from Wofford in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a religion minor. She holds an M.Ed. in higher education administration from Columbia College.
“Megan has played a key role in developing strategic recruitment initiatives, enhancing the college’s admissions processes and fostering a student-centered approach throughout her tenure,” says Samhat. “She’s well respected in the field and has a clear understanding of Wofford’s values and enrollment goals. We are confident that she will ensure a smooth transition and continue the college’s momentum in enrollment.”
