Spartanburg, S.C. – Wofford College will host a lecture by Bogdan Klich, the head of mission in the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, on April 8 at 6 p.m. Klich will share his insights on the relations between Poland and the United States and his career in Polish and European politics.
This event is part of the Hipp Lecture Series on International Affairs and National Security, established and funded by Van Hipp ’82, chairman of American Defense International.

About Bogdan Klich
Bogdan Klich is the head of mission in the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, D.C. Klich began his post on Nov. 18, 2024, after serving as a senator in the Polish parliament for 14 years. He was the minority leader of the Polish senate from 2015 to 2019.
Before his term in the senate, Klich was Poland’s minister of defense from 2007 to 2011 and a member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2007. Klich holds degrees from the Krakow Medical Academy and the Jagiellonian University, where he was a lecturer in the university’s Institute of European Studies. He has authored various publications on foreign policy and international security.
About the Hipp Lecture Series on International Affairs and National Security
The Hipp Lecture Series on International Affairs and National Security is part of the Hipp Center for National Security and Foreign Policy. It was founded in 2011 to create signature events at Wofford College with the goal of capturing the attention of students and the public while drawing them into important conversations on applying American leadership and ideals to the challenges of international affairs past, present and future. The lecture series is made possible by 1982 Wofford graduate Van D. Hipp Jr., who is personally involved in the selection of each speaker.
