Spring brings many performances and student showcases to campus, including Wofford Theatre’s newest production, a variety of musical offerings and research presentations. The college’s annual Commencement weekend will honor the Class of 2025 and the Class of 1975’s 50th reuion in May with a slate of special ceremonies culminating in Commencement exercises on May 18.

2024 Southern Prize and State Fellowships for Visual Arts
The Richardson Family Art Museum, Rosalind Sallenger Richardson Center for the Arts
Launched in 2017, the South Arts Southern Prize and State Fellowships for Visual Arts project supports some of the best contemporary art in the American South. This exhibition presents work from the nine 2024 fellowship recipients, one from each state in the South Arts region.

Hipp Lecture Series: Bogdan Klich, Polish Head of Mission in U.S.

Bodgan Klich, the Republic of Poland’s head of mission in its U.S. embassy, will discuss U.S.-Poland relations and his career, which includes time as Poland’s minister of defense. The Hipp Lecture Series on International Affairs and National Security was founded in 2011 to capture the attention of students and the public and draw them into important conversations on applying American leadership and ideals to the challenges of international affairs past, present and future.

An Evening with Dr. Lori Bednarchik

Dr. Lori Bednarchik will discuss topics related to sexual assault prevention, consent and conflict management within healthy relationships. This program is part of the Wofford's sexual assault prevention month programming.

Wofford Theatre presents “The Missing Moon”

When Bianca Blue lassos the moon from the sky one night, things get weird. High tides hit, strange stuff washes up on shore and folks host lunar search parties. What happens when the moon ... disappears? Wofford’s first-ever Main Stage show for kids and families, “The Missing Moon” is a tale of friendship, finding our purpose and figuring out that we’re better when we are together. Dance Team Dancing with the Stars Event
6 p.m., Benjamin Johnson Arena, Mungo Student Center

The Wofford Dance Club will hold a dance competition to raise funds for Dancers Against Cancer. Students will be joined by campus “celebrities” for an evening of fun and friendly competition for a good cause. Tickets are $3 each.

Dunlap Chamber Music Series: Andy Jurik and Kelariz Keshavarz
7 p.m., Leonard Auditorium, Main Building
Guitarist Andy Jurik and Dr. Kelariz Keshavarz will trace a line between the modern musical worlds of Argentina, Iran, France and Romania through the conversational nature of their guitar and flute duo. The performance is part of the Dunlap Chamber Music Series, founded in 2005 to bring international guest artists to campus.

Cam’s Club 5K

The second annual Cam’s Club 5K will begin on Wofford’s campus and will feature a cookout and silent auction. Proceeds will benefit the Cameron Pappas’ Mental Health Fund, which supports and expands mental health resources on Wofford’s campus, and Mental Health America Spartanburg. A ticket to participate in the walk/run is $5, a ticket for the cookout is $5 and a ticket for both is $8. For more info, click here.

Dr. Amelia Luxardo, the CEO of the Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network, will discuss her bilingual and bicultural upbringing and her work of empowering historically underrepresented communities. A reception will be held before the event at 4:30 p.m. at the Yorke Family Portico on the horseshoe drive side of Main Building.

Wofford will celebrate the Class of 2025 and present graduates with their diplomas as well as honorary degrees and other awards. The Class of 1975 will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their Commencement by escorting in the college’s newest graduates. Seating will be first-come, first-served without ticketing. The Commencement livestream can be viewed indoors in the Rosalind Sallenger Richardson Center for the Arts (Room 112) or online at wofford.edu/comm-live. In the case of inclement weather, Commencement will relocate to the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium, and students will be allowed six tickets each. For more information, click here.
