"SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Wofford College has CANCELED classes for tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 22, for those Interim classes that meet on campus due to impending severe winter weather. This decision was made based on the latest reports from the National Weather Service, which is calling for the winter storm to hit the Upstate and Foothills beginning around midnight tonight and continuing until Saturday afternoon/evening. Depending on location, this means rain, freezing rain, sleet and/or snow or a mixture. Possible accumulations vary, again depending on location.

College offices also will be closed and only essential personnel should report as directed by your supervisor; staff should take no undue risk to travel to campus.

Students interning during Interim should take direction from their supervisors, but they should not take any undue risk in traveling on dangerous roads.

We caution students, faculty and staff who remain on campus to be aware of falling ice from trees, buildings and building awnings. Our facilities staff will work diligently to clear major sidewalks and roads/drives through campus, but please be cautious when walking or driving on campus. We urge you to stay indoors as much as possible, and urge students to remain on campus rather than risk taking vehicles on hazardous roads.

Students are reminded that they will have NO access to any of the campus athletics facilities for sledding or other simile activities. Students also are reminded that they are NOT ALLOWED to pull anyone or anything behind their vehicles in the ice and snow. These activities are dangerous, and we have had a number of accidents and injuries in the past.

Food Service: Aramark will operate on a modified schedule, with Burwell Dining Hall opening at 8:30 a.m. Friday for breakfast. Zach’s and the Galleria will open later in the day, depending on the weather and available staffing. We will keep the student body informed of those openings as much as possible. Unless you are notified otherwise, regular food service operations will resume on Saturday. (Note: The faculty/staff dining room will remain closed.)

Please note these event changes:
• The women’s basketball game at Western Carolina Saturday afternoon has been postponed to 3:30 p.m. Sunday. That game can been seen on live stream at WatchESPN.com and followed on live stats at woffordterriers.com.
• The men’s tennis team has moved two of its matches as well. Saturday’s match at Winthrop has been postponed and now will be played at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, in Rock Hill. Sunday’s home opener against The Citadel at Reeves Tennis Center also has been moved back and will start at noon instead of 10 a.m., the original start time. "
