SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College will be the site for a Town Hall event hosted by U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, in Leonard Auditorium in Main Building featuring Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a 2016 Republican presidential candidate.

U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) will be a special guest at the event. The program is free and open to the public, but attendees are asked to register at www.timstownhalls.com/jindalrsvp/.

“Tim knows that the best way for the people of South Carolina to make their decision during the 2016 Republican Presidential Primary is to hear directly from the candidates themselves,” the senator’s office said in a written statement. The Town Halls “provide the opportunity for South Carolinians to look candidates in the eye, shake their hand, and make a choice free of polls or that week’s hot name in the media.”

Scott will host other individual Republican presidential candidates – including Gov. Jeb Bush, Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. Rand Paul, Gov. Rick Perry, Sen. Marco Rubio and Sen. Rick Santorum – at a variety of locations over the next few months.
