Inclusive Pedagogy Series
An inclusive pedagogy seminar series was launched in the fall 2017 semester. The 2017-18 series included these programs: “Intercultural Learning” by Dr. Tara Harvey, “Inclusivity and the Classroom: Interrogating the Wofford Way” by Regina Fuller ’11 and “Interfaith Engagement and Pluralism” by Dr. Trina Jones and the Rev. Dr. Ron Robinson.
Inclusive Teaching Group
This group was created by the dean of diversity and inclusion in the spring semester of 2018. During their meetings, participants discuss inclusive pedagogy tools and strategies. They also discuss articles on this topic, such as the one published in the Chronicle of Higher Education titled “Traditional Teaching May Deepen Inequality. Can a Different Approach Fix It?” Furthermore, the group enjoys learning from students’ input. In October 2018, they met with students leaders to learn what professors can do inside and outside of their classrooms to make students feel included.
Multicultural Women and Allies Support Group
This group was started in the spring 2018 semester to better support new faculty and staff members who identify as women and/or members of a minority group.
