Like his mentor, retired Wofford professor Dr. John Pilley, Psychology professor Dr. Alliston Reid's true passion is working closely with students in the lab. He even started liking basketball once he and his students learned to teach rats to play one-on-one. In 2012 Dr. Reid was named the CASE South Carolina Professor of Year.

Dr. Charlie Bass, Dr. and Mrs. Larry Hearn McCalla Professor of Chemistry, was included in the April 2012 edition of the Princeton Review's "The Best 300 Professors," which paid tribute to the dedication of America's undergraduate professors.

Elizabeth Cox co-holds the John C. Cobb Endowed Chair in the Humanities and is an integral member of Wofford's Creative Writing program. Cox is a poet, short story writer, essayist, and novelist. In April 2011, she was inducted into the Fellowship of Southern Writers and received the Robert Penn Warren Award for her body of work.

C. Michael Curtis is the co-holder of the John C. Cobb Endowed Chair in the Humanities and teaches in the Creative Writing program. In addition to being an accomplished essayist in his own right, Curtis is senior editor for fiction at The Atlantic Monthly.

Religion professor Dr. Byron McCane frequently brings students on the archeological digs he conducts in the Middle East each summer. He has been featured as an expert on several programs on the Discovery and National Geographic channels, and has even read clues on Jeopardy!

Drs. Angela and George Shiflet co-authored the 2006 textbook Introduction to Computational Science: Modeling and Simulation for the Sciences. Together they spent much of 2011 conducting research at the University of Oxford. In addition to being recognized with several awards for her teaching, Dr. Angela Shiflet has been instrumental in securing high profile internships for students.

To prepare for life after graduation and outside of residence halls, Wofford’s senior class lives together in the award-winning Village. Each apartment is approximately 1200 square feet and includes four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen!

With rocking chairs provided as part of the furniture of most apartments, it's a common sight to see students enjoying each other's company on the many porches and balconies in the Village!

Right off the Grand Galleria in the Michael S. Brown Village Center is a well stocked market that allows students to take full advantage of the kitchen in their apartment—all without ever having to leave campus!

The newest addition to the Village is the Michael S. Brown Village Center. It houses the Mungo Center for Professional Excellence, classrooms, office space, a galleria, a dining center, and a market on the first floor and apartment style housing on the top two floors.

Having a full kitchen available allows students to get comfortable preparing their own meals on a regular basis. Plus, with the rest of their class living all around them, there's never a shortage of dinner companions!

Besides housing the senior class, the Village is home to a bocce ball court, a half basketball court, and a beach volleyball court. There are also several grilling areas and green spaces where you can play games or catch up on homework on a beautiful spring afternoon.
