Calendar Text

January

4-week Interim course covering each of the BRICS countries in detail. Faculty, staff, and visiting experts will introduce you to the cultural, governmental, religious, political, business, and financial aspects of each country.

Spring

We'll host four-six events during February, March, and April. These may be guest speakers, special topic discussions, films, basic language instruction, etc. You will be expected to attend each event, but we'll make every effort to include all participants in the scheduling process.

June

BRICSCaseWe're heading into the wild blue yonder this month on our two-week in-country visit! Two faculty/staff members will accompany the group. In 2014, we're going to Brazil June 2-15 (dates subject to change).

July

Want to maximize your BRICS experience and round out your summer? Consider participating in The Institute during Wofford's second summer session. Just like all of The Space's programs, your major doesn't matter: any student will benefit from learning the professional skills that will help you speak, write, present, package, and perhaps even sell your awe-inspiring BRICS knowledge to employers, graduate schools, businesses, and anyone else you might want to associate with during and after Wofford.

You'll also participate in a consulting project during which you and your team will solve a problem for a real company or organization. You'll be able to put your global knowledge to immediate use and add this exceptional experience to your resume, making Institute participation even more valuable than a typical summer internship.

Institute participation is separate from the BRICS program. Learn more about it.

September

You and your BRICS Initiative colleagues will work with program faculty and staff to produce a one-day conference for local/regional organizations that want to learn from your BRICS experience. You'll participate in every aspect of conference planning and programming, from developing the schedule, securing the venue, marketing to potential participants, presenting the sessions, and networking with companies.
