If you walk into the SI center before a Physics exam, you may see J.D. Tolbert sitting at the table, engrossed in his studies.  He often offers to discuss mathematical theories and all manner of universal complexities with anyone interested, always with a smile.  Later in the day, you may see J.D. zipping around campus on his bicycle.  He is academically driven and excited about science, but he is also passionate about the outdoors and the arts, which he is learning to combine.  During his time in the Success Initiative program, he has studied nature photography, biodegradable sculpture, and guitar.  This summer, J.D. hiked the Appalachian Trail with friends, taking breathtaking photographs in the process.  After graduation, J.D. is hoping to be involved in international missions before going to graduate school.
