Jack came to Wofford from Atlanta, Georgia, where he has his own design firm, Lab Monkey Designs.  He spoke with students about making a living as a visual artist.  He set up a studio space in the SI center, imposing but one rule: "All who enter must make art."  The large canvas on the wall invited all visitors to do just that; a box of colorful markers sat beside it, beckoning.  Soon, SIers and guests alike were coming to the room just to draw, paint, and have fun expressing themselves through art.  The Artist in Residence program helps Success Initiative members learn the therapeutic value of art, the entrepreneurship involved in being an artist, and the genuine joy that comes from creativity.
