Creating a Music Video
One of the exciting opportunities that Success Initiative affords is project collaboration. SI students not only discover their own passions but each others' as well. Sometimes, these passions fit together like pieces of a puzzle. For example:
As a Junior, Tyler Swain has already compiled an impressive catalog of original videos. He enjoys being behind the camera, and has a knack for seeing the artistry in marketing. Patrick Craig is an accomplished singer/songwriter who uses his energetic style to lead in worship settings. When these two teamed up on their project in spring, 2009, they were an unstoppable creative force! Patrick composed an original song, using Tyler as his sounding board. The two discussed lyrics, harmonies, and meaning. After the song was completed, they went to a local recording studio to lay down the track. They then storyboarded their video, deciding to tell a story of love set in downtown Spartanburg. Their finished product was nothing short of professional. On deliverable day, these two were pleased and proud to show off their hard work to all who passed through. Many students and staff members stopped to enjoy the music and compliment these two and their video.
