"Native Tongues": International Poetry Event

Event Details

Date: Oct 11, 2012
Time: 4:00 PM
Description: Native Tongues, an international poetry event, celebrates not only international poets of the past and present, but it also inspires us to reflect on the power of language. The event will provide insights into diverse cultures and histories and move us to contemplate the role of artists in our culture as they touch us in many different ways, help us imagine different perspectives, prompt us to engage with our past, and remind us of the beauty of language.

As part of the events of Re:Thinking Education, Natives Tongues focuses on international poetry and contributes to the conversation on the impact and import of intercultural communication, global citizenship, and critical topics related to education in the liberal arts such as diversity, discrimination, justice, and love.
Location: Sandor Teszler Library Gallery
