CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
In May 2008, Melvin accepted a position with WRC-TV in Washington, D.C., placing him in a top 10 TV market. He is the weekend anchor and will fill in during the week. Melvin also will get some in-depth reporting assignments in the Washington area. He got his start in TV reporting with WIS in Columbia, S.C., in 2001. Eventually working his way to weekday anchor with an Emmy Award to his credit, Melvin started as a featured reporter on the morning news, known for his roving "Craig Cam" live. He also anchored WIS News 10 Saturday morning and the weekend editions of the News at 6 p.m. and Nightcast.
Before leaving Columbia, Melvin mentored young people through several local charities. He was a member of the board of the South Carolina Philharmonic, the Hootie and the Blowfish Monday after the Masters Tournament, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
