Inside an Apartment

  • During the 2006-2007 academic year, Phase I of the apartment-style housing program ushered in a new era in student residential life at the college. Almost 80 seniors have been living in the new community since late September. In January 2006, ground was broken on the $5.5 million Phase II, which will provide another 104 beds by August 1, 2007. This will allow 60 percent of the Class of 2008 to have the opportunity to live in the Village.
  • Ron Smith of McMillan Smith and Partners is the architect of the village. Rick Webel of Innocenti and Webel in New York is the landscape architect.  Lew Oliver of Wholetown Solutions of Atlanta has joined the original team as a consulting architect.
  • 1200 square feet per apartment, four private bedrooms, two full baths, full size kitchen, dining area with dinette and four chairs furnished, four kitchen bar stools furnished, large front porch or balcony with one rocking chair per student furnished, electronic card key access, cable tv, high speed internet, and phone service for each student, spacious living/dining/kitchen area with chair rail and crown molding.
  • All seniors will have an apartment option when project is complete at no extra charge.
