Senior Circuit...Adam Lesko

Adam Lesko’s family lives in Myrtle Beach, but he was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio.

“My family moved down to the beach the summer prior to my freshman year and that is the primary reason I applied to Wofford,” he says.

lesko180He got involved right away, walking onto the football team as a freshman. He also ran track as a freshman and a sophomore. But his best sport is one that’s less familiar.

“I have also been a part of the Ultimate Frisbee club all four years at Wofford,” says Lesko. “As for my non-athletic endeavors; I have been a member of both Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Campus Crusade.”

Academically, his path took a detour early on.

“When I first came to Wofford, I was planning on pursuing a biology major with a pre-med concentration, but changed to finance my sophomore year,” he says. “I changed majors because I realized after some reflection that it was not my dream to be an orthopedic surgeon. I chose finance mostly because I was not sure what I wanted to do and felt that a finance degree would allow me flexibility in deciding what career I wanted to pursue after college.”

Right now the career he is considering has more to do with X’s and O’s than dollars and cents.

“After I leave Wofford I am going to pursue a career in coaching football, hopefully at the collegiate level,” he says. “I have an internship lined up with a prep (junior college type) school in Charlotte as an assistant football coach. To help me prepare for my career choice, I volunteered with the football staff here at Wofford this past season as a video assistant. This was a great experience for me and really solidified my desire to coach.”

It was just one of many great memories he has of his time here at Wofford.

“I have been privileged to experience several great memories,” he says. “To name a few; pulling off "the greatest play” in Frisbee, where someone jumps or dives out of bounds and catches and throws the disk to a teammate before landing; witnessing Wofford’s upset over Appalachian State in football after Appalachian State had beaten Michigan; "fountain hopping" my freshman year in summer school; and learning to dance salsa, merengue, and tango during my Junior year Interim.”
