Senior Circuit...Edward Henderson

Chesterfield, S.C., isn’t a natural pipeline to Wofford College. After all, the small town nestled halfway between Charlotte, N.C., and Florence, S.C., is 80 miles from Spartanburg. But Edward Henderson was just the latest in his family to make that trek down Highway 9.

hndrsn200“My choice to come to Wofford was a pretty easy one,” says Henderson. “My grandfather, father, and sister all hold degrees from Wofford, so I was very familiar with the school. I visited often growing up, and eventually fell in love with the campus.”

Henderson has been very involved in his fraternity and in other organizations on and off campus during his four years at Wofford.

“I have been a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and served in two positions for the fraternity,” he says. “I’ve also been very active in intramural sports. I have been a member of the Wofford Glee Club and Pre-Law Society. In addition, I have worked a part time job with a law office in Spartanburg.”

Academically, Henderson had one change of heart, and major.

“I originally planned on majoring in history, but after taking Introduction to American Politics I decided that government was the right major for me,” he says. "It was one of the best decisions I have made in college.”

His college career will continue, as he plans to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law. His time at Wofford may be coming to a close, but the memories will last forever.

“I do not know if there are enough pages to record all the memories and funny stories that have happened the past four years,” says Henderson. “That said, traveling to Portugal and scuba diving in Mexico during Interim stand out as two of my favorites. Other than that, making the best friends of my life has certainly been memorable in and of itself.”
