Katie Couric takes notice of Wofford students' video

Four students in instructor Linda Powers' public relations class at Wofford this past fall - Elle Basile, Margaret Deans Fawcett, Cayla Eddy and Kameron Union - noticed that Katie Couric mentioned in a Delta Sky Mall magazine that she wanted to do a show on the question “Is college worth the cost?”

These students wanted Ms. Couric to know that they believe it is, and they produced their own video saying that and inviting Ms. Couric to come to Wofford to see for herself.

The students posted the video to YouTube, then worked to get the attention of Couric show producers.

The efforts paid off. On Thursday, March 21, Couric’s website included a link from the home page to the video.
