Borden named assistant director of news services at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Brett Borden has been named assistant director of news services at Wofford College, Dr. Doyle Boggs, executive director of the Office of Communications and Marketing, announced today (Wednesday, July 9, 2008).

Borden has been a writer/editor since 1989, when he served as editor of Needle Arts magazine in Louisville, Ky. He wrote for Business First of Louisville, Louisville Magazine and the Courier Journal before moving to Florida in 1995. Borden covered several different sports for the Daytona Beach News-Journal before moving on to nascar.com.

In 2000, Borden moved to Charlotte and started working for the Carolina Panthers, where he spent seven years as a writer. He also has been a freelance writer for espn.com for two years.
