Wofford Web site home page receives CASE award

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College’s Web site home page has been recognized with a special merit award by the Council of Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

The Wofford Office of Communications and Marketing received the received the recognition in the category of “World Wide Web Home Page Design and Implementation” in the annual CASE Advancement Awards programs for colleges and universities in the District III competition.  The district encompasses South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi.

The Wofford Web site was designed by Creative Edge of Spartanburg, under the direction of staff in the Offices of Communications and Marketing and Information Management.  Kyle James is the webmaster, and Brian Jinwright is assistant webmaster.

The awards were announced at the 2008 CASE District III Conference this week in Atlanta, Ga.

In 2007, the Wofford Web site received the Award of Excellence for Overall Web Site Design and Implementation.  The site has been featured in a case study on the site of Ektron, the company that provides the content management system software used on the Wofford site.  The case study can be found at http://www.ektron.com/customers.aspx?id=4242.

Wofford’s Web site, which features innovative and interactive content, such as videos, blogs and podcasts, to keep the campus community as well as prospective students and alumni up to date on activities and news at the college, can be found at www.wofford.edu.
