Assistance Request

To help the Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM) assist you with your event planning and promotion, and to help us be more efficient and effective, we have devised this step-by-step guide.

1.
Select a date for you revent by consulting the Wofford Online Calendar, and submit your event by clicking on “Add Event.” 

2.  Reserve room/venue with the appropriate administrative staff member. 

3.  Submit your event to Daily Announcements.  Announcements must be submitted no later than midnight the day before it is to distributed.  Announcements can be submitted twice – once a week or so out from the event and once the day of the event, or the Friday before if it is a weekend event. 

The OCM can provide you with further assistance for your event, including photography, news releases, fliers, programs, invitations, etc.  Submit the following form, checking the type of assistance you are requesting and providing the appropriate information, and members of the OCM team will contact you about your request.  Remember to give the appropriate lead time to allow for the most efficient and effective assistance.

Assistance Requests 

- The OCM can assist with the design and printing of invitations, or with reviewing your invitation to be certain it adheres to the Wofford Graphic Identity Manual (GRIM). The originating office will be responsible for providing appropriate information for the invitation, assembling invitations (stuffing envelopes, etc.), mailing the invitations, and paying all printing and postal expenses. (Please allow 21 calendar days prior to the event date.)

Additional Information
 

- The OCM can assist with the design and printing of event programs, or with reviewing your program to be certain it adheres to the Wofford Graphic Identity Manual (GRIM). The originating office will be responsible for providing appropriate information for the program, assembling programs, and paying all printing. (Please allow 21 calendar days prior to the event date.)

- (on or off-campus distribution) The OCM can assist with the design and printing of posters/fliers, or with reviewing the posters/filers to be certain they adhere to the GRIM. The originating office will be responsible for providing appropriate information, distribution of the posters/fliers, and paying all printing and postal expenses. (Please allow 21 calendar days prior to the event date.)

Additional Information
 

- on and off-campus) The News Services staff of the OCM can write a news release for posting to the Wofford Web site, and when appropriate, for dissemination to local and regional news media. The originating office will be responsible for providing appropriate information for the development of the release. This will include providing the names of any special media to whom the release may be sent. (Note that all news releases about official campus events must be disseminated through the News Services staff.) (Please allow 14 calendar days prior to the event.)

- When appropriate, the News Services staff will develop potential story ideas/pitches for local/regional or other media. This will be done in cooperation with the originating office, which will provide appropriate details and help with facilitating interviews, photographs, etc. (Please allow 14 calendar days prior to the event.)
