Wofford presents 5th Annual Conference on Gender

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College will present the 5th Annual Conference on Gender from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, in the Montgomery Room in the Burwell Building. The program is open to the public.

The conference will include presentations by Wofford students on a variety of topics. Presenters and their topics are:

Katie Isbell, sophomore, Taylors, S.C. – “Survivors, Victims and Science: Breast Cancer Stories and Current Research”

Katie King, freshman, Greenville, S.C. – “Brains and Beauty in Sensation Fiction”

Vanessa Lauber, junior, Greer, S.C. – “The Moral Reform Movement: Retaining American Virtue”

Rachel Moore, senior, Columbia, S.C. – “Trends in Female Immigrant Jewish Education due to Ethnic Identification”

Emily Smith, senior, Woodruff, S.C. – “The Sins of the Mothers”

Lauren Stephenson, senior, Cape Coral, Fla. – “From Social Imprisonment to Suicide: Authorial Criticism and Empathy in Madame Bovary and Anna Karenina”
