Wofford hosts annual Family Weekend Oct. 21-23

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College will host its annual Family Weekend this weekend, with a variety of activities.
The weekend will begin Friday with a meeting of the Parents Advisory Council from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Franklin W. Olin Building.
Saturday, registration will be from 8 to 11 a.m. at Player’s Corner at the Burwell Building, where coffee, water, sweet rolls, sausage biscuits and ham biscuits will be served.
Open house in the academic departments, where students’ family members can meet with professors, will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. A list of faculty members available and their office locations can be picked up at the registration table in front of the Burwell Building.
At noon, the Terriers take on the Appalachian State Mountaineers in football at Gibbs Stadium. Tickets may be purchased from the Wofford Department of Athletics by calling 597-4080 or on game day at the stadium ticket office. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 3 to 12.
For the convenience of those participating in Family Weekend activities, additional food stations will be set up at Gibbs Stadium to complement normal services offered by the stadium concession stands. You will be able to purchase lunch and beverages at these locations.
A highlight of the weekend will be the Wofford College Music Department’s 5th Annual Family Weekend Concert, set for at 5 to 6 p.m. on Saturday on the steps of Main Building. This year’s event will feature music by George and Ira Gershwin, titled “A Gershwin Portrait.” Groups performing will include the Wofford Concert Band, Chamber Players, Goldtones, Wofford Singers, Glee Club and Women’s Choir. The event is free and open to the public.
At 6 p.m., the men’s soccer team plays High Point College in Snyder Field. Admission is free.
Sunday will begin with a “Good Morning” Reception with President and Mrs. Benjamin B. Dunlap, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the President’s Home. The event is co-hosted by the Parents Advisory Council.
A Campus Worship Service will be held from 11 a.m. to noon in the Papadopoulos Building; coffee and pastry will be available.
Sunday Brunch will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Dining Room of the Burwell Building. Payment may be made at the door. Cost is $7.25 for adults and $3.50 for children under 10.
