United Methodist Youth Conference set at Wofford College

June 22, 2004

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The United Methodist Youth Annual Conference 2004 will bring more than 500 rising eighth-graders through rising 12th-graders to the Wofford College campus July 12-16.

The program is part of the South Carolina Conference of Age-Level Ministries. Each church in the South Carolina Methodist Conference is invited to send delegates to the Youth Annual Conference, where they are challenged by guest speakers, participate in musical programs, worship and bond together.

They also will participate in the selection process for the Conference Council on Youth Ministry (CCYM), whose mission is to “model a means for spiritual growth, fellowship, and service … [and] enable the youth of South Carolina to be ministers in the name of God.”

The South Carolina Conference of Age-Level Ministries is the leading body for the intergenerational ministries of the United Methodist Church in South Carolina. It is a section of the South Carolina Conference Council on Connectional Ministries based in Summerville, S.C.

Wofford has been the site of the conference for a number of years.
