Gibbs Make $50,000 Gift to Wofford Student Organization

SPARTANBURG, SC—Marsha and Jimmy Gibbs, long-time and committed supporters of Wofford College, will be recognized today (Monday, Nov. 11), for their recent gift of $50,000 to the college’s student government organization, the Campus Union.

Jimmy Gibb is a member of the Wofford board of trustees.

The funds will be used to enhance and expand social and other special programming.

Robert Goings, president of the Campus Union, says, “Campus Union has worked really hard to improve student life on campus. This gift will allow us to improve campus life activities by implementing programs and events that will foster a student life without walls and boundaries. With this gift, Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs have touched the lives of every student at Wofford, and we honor their continued support and dedication to our college. They are wonderful friends to the college, and most importantly, friends to the students”

In recognition of the gift, the Gibbs will be honored at a special presentation on at 6 p.m. Monday in the Olin Theater. Attending will be members of the Campus Union and Wofford President Benjamin Dunlap.
