Black History Month Events Planned at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, SC—Wofford College plans a variety of events to commemorate Black History Month. Here is a schedule:
Monday, Feb. 10 – Comedian CoCo Brown. The Black Comedy Tour is Back! Take a hilarious voyage through the mind of CoCo Brown. Zach’s, Campus Life Building, 8 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 18 – Darryl Van Leer. This powerful one-man show features portrayals of some of history’s most influential African-American figures from “The Gallows to the Gavel.” Verandah Room, 7 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 20 – African Mask-Making Workshop. Join Dr. Kirsten Krick-Aigner for an exploration into African art and culture. All supplies will be provided. Dinner will be served. RSVP to 597-4506 by Feb. 18. Olin Building, Room 201, 5 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 23 – Literary Salon 2003: Fostering Unity Through Reflection. Students, faculty and staff of Wofford will gather to recite works written for, by and about African-Americans. AAAS Room, Burwell Building, 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 27 – Black History Trivia Challenge. Wofford teams test their knowledge of black history in a game show that promises to be full of facts and fun! AAAS Room, Burwell Building, 7 p.m.
