The German Program at Wofford is very active on campus and in the Spartanburg community with annual events, such as the campus-wide Oktoberfest, the Spartanburg International Festival, the German Christmas Party, Karneval, and our end-of-the-year Grillfest. In addition, the program offers weekly and monthly activities, such as film and pizza nights, Stammtisch, Kaffee und Kuchen, lectures, and musical evenings. Please let us know if there are any additional activities or events you would like to offer or attend.
Our students are highly engaged on campus and in the community. We welcome all of our new German students to our program and to our events!
we have two Delta Phi Alpha Presidents: Jimmy Palanica and Alex Silverman who
both just returned from their studies abroad in Freiburg and Berlin! Please
contact Jimmy at email@example.com
and Alex at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also have a German Language Assistant this year. Valeska
Dorow comes to us from Berlin, and is here to help our students with any
problems they might have with their German. You can reach Valeska at email@example.com
Many of our students are double and even triple majors. Over the last several years four of our German majors, Claudia Winkler, John Wood, Jessica Miller and Caitlin Walsh, were awarded prestigious Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships to Germany. Currently, three of our former German majors live and work in Austria and Germany!
